I regard my research activity as that of a maker, be it of personal film, photography and painting works, as a producer of programmes or a jobbing VT editor. My experience in these areas is a resource I use daily in my teaching. From 1994 to 2004 I carried out an in-depth speculative and practical process of work with the Dartington Hall Film Archive. This work resulted in a number of outputs and my successful PhD thesis (film and text) Film and the Dartington Experience awarded in August 2004.
